Biography

A biochemist by training (UQAM, 1989), and having developed expertise in molecular and cellular biology (U. de Montréal 1996 and Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden, 2001), Dr. Patrick Provost is Full Professor in the Department of Microbiology-Infectiology and immunology from the Faculty of Medicine of Université Laval, and researcher at the Center de recherche du CHU de Québec-Université Laval since 2001. To date, the turning point of his career has been his discovery, in 2002, of the ribonuclease Dicer in humans.
